Artist's Comments

Being deaf, Powder slept unlike any animal (or person for that matter) that I've ever known.
So deep. Nothing disturbed his sleep.
I think that was one blessing for him.
He slept. And had boundless energy when he woke.

He really is deaf?
:iconhyde-can-design:
Yes he was.
A white cat with blue eyes will always be deaf. It is a genetic certainty.
If the cat has the slightest amount of color, even a patch with just a few hairs, he'll be OK to hear.
They have to be true albinos. Meaning they cannot produce pigment.

He was very, very, very rare. There are currently 4 registered White Russians in North America.

That's 4. Period. Out of millions and millions of cats... 4. Powder was number 5.

My daughter in law had one. He was a lovely cat, but very timid. He spent most of his life hiding. He became very sick, they dont know why.
